All fall long he had been putting content of student entrepreneurs on YouTube, where he has almost 200 videos. But he revamped his approach after realizing he needed to be more consistent and include alumni. The Spring agenda for EntrepreNoles includes weekly episodes of “The Entreprenoles Audio Experience” a podcast released on iTunes, Google, Stitcher and “iCourtesy,” a one-hour vlog that is released on YouTube and Facebook every Friday night at 10 p.m.
Each vlog is a mashup of Israel’s week, while the podcasts are a little more structured. Each podcast features one alumni, one local entrepreneur and one local band.
On Friday Jan. 19, iCourtesy launched its first episode which featured an interview with Trevor Butler, the founder of a new start-up called “Pawprint” and an interview with two local musicians, Jared and Gabo, from local Tallahassee band “Good Times Floral Shop.” It also featured students out of the Jim Moran School of Entrepreneurship.
Lastly, it included performances from the Just Chameleons at their live EP release party, where Good Times Floral Shop, Funki Destini and Just Chameleons all played together.
This past Friday, Jan. 27, iCourtesy continued its series with a featured interview with young hustler, Zack Siegel. It also featured music from Good Times Floral Shop as well as Ping Pong with founder of gourmet pup club, Ansel Diama.
“iCourtesy is kind of an homage to Jim Moran, because he used to MC one hour of video entertainment called Courtesy Hour every Friday at 10 p.m,” said Israel. “He entertained first, and was in the position of leverage to be who his viewers thought of first at those pivotal moments when they actually needed to buy cars.
“I want to be the information platform for Tallahassee’s passionate people to come tell their stories and showcase their passions.” says Israel.
“I am trying to build an ‘attention Death Star’ through Entreprenoles.” Said Israel who looks up to entertainment first marketers like Gary V and Jim Moran. “I’m trying to bring entertainment first, and then sell people a couple of things. Look up what Gary Vaynerchuk did with Wine Library. That was Jim Moran’s model first. Time proven stuff. I’m trying to execute in a parallel direction to these greats!
“I came up with the media entity/business Entreprenoles after asking myself ‘What would Jim Moran do if he were alive right now?’ said Israel. This was after reading the book that was given to him by the Entrepreneurship school, called “Jim Moran the Courtesy Man.” This book offered a biography on Moran and inspired Israel to start his business through bringing value first.
