The Next Generation (TNG) School held a grand event of fifth TNG Youth Leadership Programme at Qatar National Convention Centre recently.
TNG Youth Leadership Programme is conducted every year to boost students’ skills.
The fifth Youth Leadership Programme had four main segments; TNG Gavel Club Contest, TNG Student Leadership Presentation from Grade I onwards, TNG Marathon for parents and students at the MIA Park and TNG Kindergarten Leadership Presentation.
Hosted by the TNG Primary students, TNG Kindergarten Leadership Programme began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and a beautiful ‘Naat’ presentation by the young leaders. An artist and entrepreneur of Qatar, Amal Alaathem, and Defence Attache of Pakistan Embassy, Commodore Irfan Taj, attended the event as chief guests.
TNG Principal delivered welcome address stating, “We at TNG believe in the philosophy that children can reach the potential through stage participation and extensive exposure to school activities throughout the academic year. We train our teachers on a regular basis through professional development to ensure that they are equipped better to nurture the future leaders of tomorrow”.
The talented young leaders narrated and re-enacted stories of “Hungry Caterpillar” and “Little Red Riding Hood”.
Poetry recitation on the ‘Animals of the Ocean’, ‘Healthy Food’, ‘Peace and Transport Safety’ followed by a role play of the reception grade students as community helpers.
Students of the TNG Special Needs also came forward in taking the opportunity to express their leadership skills.
Focusing on leadership, students of Year II talked about the seven habits of a leader followed by a group chorus “ Leader in Me”. Students expressed their creative and team building skills through various role plays performed on stage.
TNG Director, Riyaz Ahmed Bakali, spoke to the audience about the school’s mission and vision to recognise the skills in each child and refine them to build leaders of tomorrow.
