DOHA: Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Dr Mohamed bin Abdul Wahed Al Hammadi visited the second exhibition of visual arts creators. The exhibition titled “Paper” was organised by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in partnership with Qatar Museum for second year in a row during March 19 to 26.
The Minister praised creative works of the participating students which were showcased at the exhibition. “The students’ work reflects creativity taught by our schools to the students,” said the Minister.
He said that the works of the students indicate a promising future of the art and creativity that came into light through various types of visual arts including drawings, fine arts, sculpture making and other paper creations among many others by using papers.
The Minister toured the exhibition where he was briefed on the various works of art of students and teachers by Professor Suad Al Salem, Head of the Department of Arts and Theater at the Department of Educational Guidance at the Ministry.
The students and teachers discussed their work. The Minister was gifted a horse painting made by a student Mariam Kaabi, of 11th grade at Aisha Bent Abu Bakr Secondary School for Girls.
Dr Al Hammadi pointed out that the students’ work dealt with real issues such as the siege and its impact, which indicates the awareness level of students and their deep imagination and their interaction with the issues of their homeland.
He also praised the role of participating schools and visual arts teachers, who also presented outstanding works in the exhibition, stressing the success of the exhibition in achieving its objectives of creativity and art works.
