Kearney area entrepreneurs are invited to deepen their understanding of legal issues that may affect their businesses.
Student attorneys from the Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law will discuss business entity structure at the upcoming Kearney Area Entrepreneurs meeting.
The group, for small business owners and new entrepreneurs, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16 at Mac’s Creek Wine Bar at 421 W. Talmadge Rd. Attendees will receive a $5 wine card.
Each meeting features expert speakers on topics such as social media marketing, branding, target market, finances and more. Group members are encouraged to share their topics of interest. Those topics will be discussed at future meetings.
During September’s meeting, attendees will learn how to choose a business entity such as sole proprietorship, limited liability company, corporation, etc.
The Entrepreneurship Legal Clinic provides free advice and legal representation to start-up business clients throughout Nebraska. The clinic handles a variety of early-stage legal matters including entity formation, contract drafting and review, intellectual property protection, and regulatory, compliance and other transactional legal matters. Law students provide legal services under the direct supervision of a law professor.
Attendees also have the opportunity to share their success stories and their current challenges, discuss strategies, network, get feedback, create partnerships, give advice to others and gain support and guidance.
The Kearney Area Entrepreneurs meet the third Tuesday of each month. Meetings are free and open to new and small business owners and those interested in starting a business. Being a Chamber of Commerce member is not required.
